In my opinion, no.

BOINC supoorts fewer platforms, is immensely more complex to install
and navigate, and quite frankly confused the hell out of me - and I've
been chugging through Seti units since 1999. By the way, they haven't
eliminated the 'classic' version of Seti - they've only turned off the
ability to create new 'classic' accounts. for the time being, I'm still
going to use the old version.
