I do not have PCmcia cards in my Newton except a linear memory card.
The "automatically receive beams" preference was off.
Today the same thing happened. I bought new batteries, and after 10
minutes of taking notes, the battery fell to 80% (according to Avi's
Backdrop)

I will install NewtTest and I will report the current that my Newts
draws.
