[NTLK] eMate questions

I have recently acquired 3 eMates, with chargers and styli and just
have a few questions about them:

1) I have looked at all the hinges, they have been repaired, but there
are no washers, should I put them in or just grease the hinges
regularly?

2) The audio out jacks seem to have a lot of interference from
something, is this normal?

(I have already posted about the problem with one of them, thank you
for the replies to that :-)
