[NTLK] emate only starts with reset button

Anyone have an idea why an eMate would only start by pressing the reset
button? I hard reset it okay, but still it only starts with reset button
and starts to the pen alignment screen.
The power button will turn the machine off, but not on, and the battery
holds an okay charge.
