The second serial port i meant in my last mail was the second one on
the interconnect port
(as on it are present only two serial lines, while the internal
connector give access to three of them)

You say that the serial channel 3 on the interconnect port will need to
be addressed via software [it will explain why i got no communications
from the MessagePad to my Mac....] but when i look at the Freedock, i
see a second serial port, for a modem use, which seems to be already
enabled without using any additional software.

What do you think about it?
