I reckon choosing the right font makes a big difference. Fancy and simple
can be difficult to read at less than 14 points. I find casual to be the
best.

Currently the resolution is too low for a reasonable amount of text in a
small format being read by a dim light source such as a bedside lamp. I've
seen systems that have page turner buttons and graphics that simulate the
page flipping. Somehow it all seems like a computer looking for an
application rather than a solution to a real issue.
