John talks a lot of sense - a bit of struggle may seem like time-
wasting but it really will enable you to get to grips with that
strange thing that is a Newt!
On a more practical level - the boot strapping problem is just that -
a problem to be solved. And yes a card swop is one way but it is
only a temporary initial solution. I would suggest that you try to
get hold of a dongle for the Newt->serial cable, a serial cable and a
USB adapter so that you can connect to your Powerbook. This should
solve your immediate problem of providing a conduit for getting
software onto the Newt using either NCU (if you can get it to work)
or NewTen.
You will need the Wi-fi driver (see the relevant unna/wiki page) and
pay the shareware fee.
