It was. In many respects, the GTD way of doing things
isn't quite right for me. Possibly because my
professional training means I already practice some of
the GTD principals intuitively.

I'm a newspaper editor so my working life revolves
around responding quickly to events. If you can't
prioritise properly in this game you don't last to
lunchtime. In GTD speak there are always obvious Next
Actions.

However, I find Life Balance is a great way to
organise things outside of work and to deal with those
metaprojects that exist outside of daily deadlines
etc. I depart from GTD by having three or four todos
linked to each project rather than a single Next
Action.

In my Notes, I keep a folder for projects, about six
projects are more or less permenantly on the go and
three or four temporary projects might be in play at
any moment.

That's it really. A kind of boiled down approach to
GTD. It would be simple to implement on a Palm, but
until there's a LifeDrive with decent handwriting
recognition, I'm planning to stick with my MP130.
