Was using NewtToDo as my organizer application.
Tried to create an event which would repeat every 3 weeks.
Turns out this can NOT be done!
There should have been added into the kernel [or whatever the core
machine code on the Newton is called] the variable to designate any of
the plethora of normal time spans such as the daily, weekly, monthly,
every other week, etc. etc. choices the option to ad a number such as 1
or 2 or 3 or 4, etc. as an attribute to any or all of these time span
choices, but apparently it never was! What if I want to repeat an
event every 17 days, or what if I want to repeat [in my case] an even
every 3 weeks, there is no provision for this as far as I've been able
to determine.
In my haste to find a Newton package that "could" schedule my allergy
shots every three weeks indefinitely into the future for the next five
years on my Newton, I downloaded and registered TimeTrax. I realized in
the demo that I could not schedule my allergy shots every 3 weeks,
nonetheless was so impressed by TimeTrax's interface I had to have it
anyway so I purchased it.
Still, and as I believe it was pointed out on this list a few days back
by one of the Lists guru brainiacs [I use the term lovingly, no
disrespect implied or intended] the exact code specification even by
page number chapter and verse the apparent total lack of and disregard
for this feature.
So now I'm thinking that either it is literally impossible for ANY
Newton package to schedule anything every 3 weeks, or, the only other
possibility would be that there "might be" a Newton organizer PIM
package that handles this function within it's own code. Anyone know of
such a package? I love TimeTrax an most likely will stick with it even
though it's unable to handle this one particular event scheduling of my
allergy shot every three weeks. After all, you've got to take the good
with the bad ;-)
Any suggestions greatly appreciated. TIA, John
