[NTLK] A funny thing happened on the way to Mail V

I carefully noted the upgrade procedure from SimpleMail to Mail V as
it is found in the install manual.

When I try to use the application, I get an error message "error
looking up host (0)" and then my Newton locks up, the alarm chime
beeping so constantly that it makes a long continuous tone until I do
a reset.

What should I be looking for? I first ran setup assistant, then
erased that and entered manually, no difference.
