Just my political leanings. I have a real problem with the way ebay
does business. as long as they get their listing costs they could
give a rats ass about the experience each party has with
transaction. I also find most auctions to be dishonest in their
pricing, with shipping costs hidden, misleading, and abnormally high
so as to obfuscate the actual price. I also have issues with sniping
software which make auctions a farce until the last 3-5 seconds of
the auction. I realize that a lot of people find ebay to be the holy
grail of capitalism, but I feel that the way ebay does business
demeans the participants. Business should hold a responsibility to
their customers not distain. Paypal is just an extension of ebay,
and only put in place to avoid credit card charges on ebay's end.
Smart business move on ebay's part but another way to squeeze every
dime from customers. Paypal is for all intents and purposes an
online bank but yet has no regulation to govern it, not very customer
friendly. So I vote with my dollars and avoid ebay.
