It's probable. Also, you might try just resetting the power manager:

You should replace the PRAM. The PRAM is important for retaining
settings between restarts/power downs (including possibly the power
management configs). The Torx bits are available at any hardware store,
you are typically looking for sizes #8 #9 #10. There fairly
inexpensive, same as any screwdriver bit-kit.
