I'm a huge fan of Adam Tow's newtToDo (http://www.tow.com/software/
newton.shtml), which does actually support notes and outlines for
each task (if you want to use them). I keep it as my background app
and us his HyperNewt app for my notes and linking.
I'd highly suggest trying newtToDo.
