Do you mean a PCMCIA memory card that is in the card slot, or are you
talking
about the memory upgrade board?

Assuming the latter: One mistake people frequently make is using a board
that
was manufactured by Newer Technologies without sending it my way for
resoldering
first. The more than poor soldering on these boards accounts for all
kinds of
weird eMate problem. I'd suggest the following:

1) Check that the wall socket that you plug the AC adaptor in is
working.

1) Remove the card (or board) from the eMate.

2) Go to

    http://www.pda-soft.de/emate_disassemble.html

and follow the reset sequence I describe there EXACTLY (as in: Do not
change
ANYTHING). If after that the eMate still does not wake up, it has a
hardware
problem. The good news is that this hardly ever happens.

You might also want to look into the hinge spring problem if you want to
keep your eMate usable for a longer time. This is also described on the
page above.
