I'm past frustration, into that quiet, Zen-like landscape of simple
acceptance. :)
Sadly, I don't have any Macs, but I do know that the Newton could
previously be pinged from a Linux workstation. This was more than a year
ago and I cannot repeat the exercise, as the Linux workstation in
question is temporarily mothballed (we're emigrating to Thailand this
summer).
I'll go hunting for a 10baseT hub tomorrow, and if I can't find one,
I'll try the WiFi route. The larger battery consumption would not be
muchbof a problem, as this Newton is destined to become a
LAHNFTMWICBBFUBI (lying around the house notepad for those moments when
I can't be bothered to fire up the big iron). Going WiFi would actually
save me from a wiring chore in the new house, but it would be nice to
know that I can get it to work any way I want to.
