Maximum partition for unreg is 4 mb.
For the registered version, as high as you want. I had a 1 gig partition once.
However, some applications (out of the Newton) have difficulty making out what is going on with a partition outside of 256 meg. For example, you could try to send something to the Newton 1 gig partition (speaking from experience) and the desktop will tell you "This partition is full." Stuff like that.
