Re: [NTLK] New to Newts. Wifi, Palm syncing, and other question

I have never tried to transfer files with my WiFi connection. And now I
actually use WPA with my router, so no Newton connection now...

Can you actually see files in directories on a network on a Wintel network?
I no it shouldn't actually matter since the network protocol in os
independent, well mostly.

If you can transfer files, I'll pull out my older 802.11 b router and set it
up to handle the MessagePad again.

Personally I use my IrDA port with my laptop and my MPX220 to transfer
packages, contacts and notes. In fact today I shot over a couple contacts
from my phone to my 2100, worked beautifully for the most part. I did get
the MP's IrDA port jammed a couple of times and had to reset it.

But what advantage does bluetooth offer? Can't I do with Ethernet on wifi
what I can do on bluetooth?
Isn't bluetooth one method of wireless connecting? 802.11 another? Both
accomplish the same thing, albeit differently, and one maybe does it
better--but?
I guess I'm confused as to why bluetooth is able to do what wifi can't--but
then, I've never used bluetooth...

can you straighten me out?
thanks.
