Just to put my 2 cents:

BT is more like a device to device protocol. For instance, you'll see
lots of mouse, keyboard and cell phone that uses BT. We can compare
BT to USB in a manner of speaking. Normally you just have to pair the
device (made them see each other) and you can exchange between the 2,
like if it was a cable. The speed of BT is small and more suited to
files or data transfert between the 2 devices.

WiFi is more for network elements, we can say it is the Ethernet side
of wireless networking. That mean that each device are not attached
directly to each other, but goes through a network to talk to each
other. You normally use a base station as the center point, but you
can also do a computer to computer network if you which. The Wifi
speed is higher and is more suited to navigating the Internet.
