I agree completely. I think that if something has become
abandonware, but is important/critical to the use of a device, that
one is justified in cracking it -- if, and only if the developer
cannot be reached for payment, and if there is no alternative.

So in the case of the wireless drivers, etc... yes, I think it's
justifiable.

Just my 0.02 USD.
