Has anyone experienced a slowing down of their Newton? Let me explain.
I have a 2100 with a 20mb linear card. I have both Wifi and Ethernet support
and use one or the other based on where I am and what network I'm connecting
to. I also have a Newton keyboard. I use my 2100 for a number of things
including Ebooks and Email and for the most part it moves along sprightly
for its old age. But from time to time it slows down its response to input
greatly. I mean if I tap an icon I will see the ink but it will be 2-3
seconds before it chirps and responds to my tap. It seems, and I do mean
seems as I have not really nailed down a pattern. But it seems to be
triggered more when the keyboard is connected. When it is in its "delay"
mode the delay is so bad that it will not recognize the keyboard,
keystrokes. If I disconnect the key board it will eventually speed back up.
Or if I disconnect the keyboard and reset the Newton it appears to run fine
immediately. Also, it does not always happen when the keyboard is connected.
Sometimes the keyboard works just fine. But it does seem to happen more when
the keyboard is connected. Any thoughts or similar experiences?
