Ethernet works perfectly also. I have been using it for years
without ever seeing a glitch. I don't know why you are talking up
serial so much, I don't see it as being such a boon when you
consider the added cost and drivers needed to get a USB to serial
adapter going.

No, I don't use it at all. I haven't used it in years. Also serial
is fast enough as is for loading ethernet drivers and/or bluetooth.
