That's a possibility, indeed. Just use SAI Pref cleaner (on unna, of
course) to wipe existing prefs.

Concerning the SMSC number : NewtSMS+ doesn't allow to configure the SMSC
number.
Just pop your SIM card in a phone, and set the right number in the SMS
menus (something like SMS configs).
Try reading the SMS first; if that works, NewtSMS+ can connect to the card.
