You might want to search the archives for other horror stories of a
similar nature. This kind of issue is rare, but not unheard of in
the MP2000 family. I would recommend sending your little buddy on a
visit to germany to see how Frank is doing. He can most likely
repair or replace the faulty part for an absurdly low price
(seriously) that makes the shipping worth it. Try emailing him and
see what he has to say about this.
