Yes. But it would make the eMate much more difficult
to disassemble and reassemble. If you do not want to
unsolder the two backlight wires, you need to start
disassembly with the screen part to unplug the connector.
There's an inherent danger of killing the little green
plastic thingie that operates the off switch if you
happen to close the display while the bezel is off and
the main logic board is still in place.

If you do not want to unsolder the speaker wires, you
need to unscrew the speaker with your third and fourth
hand while the other two hold the mainboard in a
position that allows getting at the speaker screws with
the screwdriver.

Better unsolder these wires. It is not difficult even
if your soldering skills are almost nonexistant.
