I think the reason for not having (m)any HD PDA's is simply battery
life. On an MP3 player, you can run the HD for a very short time and
buffer the next 10 songs, but on a PDA, the HD has to run all the
time... .

Or you go really experimental and put Linux on the iPod or iPod nano.
Then you have a good OS, a large harddisk (or 8GB of solid state),
audio and video playback, games (including Doom), etc. etc. ;-)
