Hi Eckhart - Hello Listers-

Thanks for continued support and development of all your Newton
software. I know you don't make much if any money on the deal, so
speaking for probably still thousands of Newton users out in the
world, we really do appreciate your efforts.

I'm a long time Newton users from the very beginning, but I did shelf
my Newton the past couple of years because I just didn't think it was
worth all the compatibility issues trying to run it with OSX. I only
had one computer left in my office that ran OS9 or Classe, and so I
just gave it a rest.

Now I'm back, and using the Newton again, because frankly, there are
just some things the Newton does better than anything else for a lot
of different reasons, form factor being a major advantage.

Realizing pretty quickly that you and other Newton developers
continued to make updates and improvements on your software while I
was out of the Newton community, I figured I better update all my
software to the latest versions. I did that with Blunt and all the
other associated support packages.

Now with this latest version of Bluetooth Setup, everything I try to
do causes the Newton to restart it self. If I tap on "Discover",
Newton restarts, and when I return I see my cell phone (a Motorola
SLRV) has in fact been discovered and appears in the overview list.
When I try to go to the next step which is to pair the two devices,
the Newton reboots it self again. When I return to Bluetooth Setup
after the forced reboot, the two devices are not paired. This is as
far as I've been able to get.

Back in 2004, I had no problem using Blunt version 0.4 with my Sony-
Ericsson T616.

The BlueTooth card I'm using is a AmbiCom Model# BT2000-CF

I've researched on the Newtontalk List, and see that a few people
have had success using Blunt with their Motorola Razrs, so I assumed
Blunt would be compatible with the Motorola SLVR as well. I'm told
it's basically the same phone, only it's one piece not a clam shell
form factor.

I'd sure appreciate any advice you can give me, or if any of this is
obviously not going to work, I'd really like to know so I don't drive
myself crazy.

Thanks very much for your time.
Kind Regards,
-David Deranian
