First of all thank you everyone for the kind comments, especially
Andreas. It is true I have put some time into the theme of my blog
and really do what it to convey the authenticity of a Newton while
still functioning as a suitably accessible web blog. Your comments
make the work I put into my theme worth while and I thank you for
your appreciation.

First of all I own a couple of Newton's and would just like to say
that I am aware of many of the interface inconsistencies, and
challenges still apparent in my blog's construction. Some of them
have been kept in place to ensure that my site still acts like a blog
and is somewhat navigable by a person who has never experienced a
Newton before. Others are there simply because of restrictions placed
upon me by my blog's underlying CMS (content management system),
WordPress. In either case with each new update I hope to improve or
eliminate these errors and let the true Newton experience shine through.

I have thought about doing a drop down menu here for some time but
have not yet looked into it in depth. Probably my best excuse is that
when you institute something you want to do it right the first time,
and I still haven't figured out what the right way is yet. I will put
some thought into this.

For awhile my blog functioned like this, but I was not keen to having
a list of notes over a single note as the main attraction of my home
page so I reverted the behavior. I might look into rethinking this
behavior soon.

I am trying to prevent including any close boxes as they present a
mode based environment which to an uneducated user leaves them
feeling overwhelmed by unneeded complexity. This is just one of those
sacrificed I am willing to make for better user experience.

I have thought about this as well http://www.mynewtonblog.net/
2007/04/29/future-features/ (last bullet), but just as in the case of
the category drop down menu I have not implemented it yet. It would
require the use of a dedicated print based style sheet which is
something I am working on.

That is a good idea although I am thinking I might rather have it
show the current posts meta-data. Now that i think about it more I
might like your idea better.

That is a common request of everyone who visits my blog. The problem
is the font you see depends on the fonts installed on your computer.
I could if I wanted design my blog to work well with Apple Casual or
Epsy, fonts on the Newton, but if a visitor didn't have these fonts
installed on their computer everything would look jumbled up. For now
I am going to keep things as they are, but maybe in the future I will
think about replacing the common text with a stylized flash
replacement in the tune of Apple Casual. What do you say? http://

Thank you for all of the constructive suggestions. And I hope you
will all visit again soon, especially Friday June 1st when I reveal
my new Wordpress theme in celebration of the launch of the Apple
iPhone. I bet you already have a good idea of what this theme will
depict.
