I tried a Mac Duo, which has ATA and SCSI. I forgot how I was trying to
get it to work. But then again, I still think the compact flash adaptor
I had was bad since we tried it on other computers.
Thanks for the advice!

Hello Doc,
you will need to force your Mac in order to make it boot from the CF
for the very first time. The way I make it happen on my Pismo was to
boot it from a external drive connected to the firewire port while
having the compact flash card properly connected to the internal ATA
slot. Once booted I could see the card succefully mounted on the
desktop. At that point I just set it as the system for the next boot
from the Boot Disk pref pane.
If you don't have a firewire port, you could just boot via usb or any
install cd/dvd.
I remember that keeping pressed the option button and manually
selecting the CF didn't work for me.
