I think most people just assume their card is dead and either give up on the
Newton or buy a new card. I am not in that group. Despite the odds, I like
to see if there is a way to restore what I already own to working condition.
And even if that fails, I still feel that perhaps my public dialog with
better the Newton community somehow. I would therefore encourage more of
you to verbalize your ups and downs with the Newton. This holds true for
linear flash card SIZES as well. For I've not read any reports about linear
cards being successfully used on the Newt in sizes higher than 32MB. And
while I fully understand what PCBman was talking about concerning memory
addressing limits, it would be nice to know exactly what that limit is.
Only by reporting our experiences can we come to know this, for it's not
documented anywhere that I have looked.

Thanks for spotting that, Sonny. By the way, is there such a thing as a
"Linear ATA" card, or is this seller trying to mislead us?

Thank you, Sonny. And thank you for all the feedback!
