I don't recall seeing a response to your question, so -
"Desktop" is a transport that you install on your Newton that allows
you to route information in the same way as for 'mail' or 'print' -
through the routing (envelope) menu button. It uses serial protocol,
so you need to have a cable hook-up to your host computer, and a
terminal program to capture the data from the port. As with mail or
print, you can send 'now' or 'later'. It can also work with Sloup
(formerly Slurpee) to help move the data, especially useful if the
serial parameters used by Desktop are not supported by your terminal
program.
