Unfortunately, you have to remove the motherboard in
order to examine the hinges.
Frank Gruendel's page (with invaluable assistance from
Joel M. Sciamma) has a step-by-step breakdown of the
disassembly process:

If, after taking a look, you decide that this is not
something that you yourself would care to undertake,
you may want to post to the list and ask if an
experienced someone-or-other might be willing to
perform the repair (though what the shipping and
repair charges would be I can't guess).
