Yes it is!!!! 3 am every day, in fact. All Newtons do it to roll over
daily activities. If you have your Newton set to automatically turn on
the backlight, and then to stay on for a few minutes, you can easily
wear down your battery, and if something is not right somewhere, it
can stay on for an extended period of time. My Newton has done this
more than once. I found it at 4 am shining away brightly. I found the
only way to stop that was to do a soft reset, and check my
preferences. It was a while ago that it did this the last time, but it
may have been something with the network, but I don't recall...
