Amazon has the B&D battery powered inverter for under $20:

I picked up a pair of these at Woot:
http://www.blackanddecker.com/ProductGuide/Product-Details.aspx?ProductID=17060
for $10. I have a cigarette lighter inverter in my car, one of the B&D inverters in my garage and another in my computer bag (it has a USB port so it works great for charging phones)
Honestly, I wouldn't trust a cigarette lighter adapter for the Newt...the Newt has some strange power requirements that most off-shore knock-off makers just don't understand...and with the supply of Newts going DOWN instead of up, every lost Newt is one more step towards Newt Entropy!

Never mind that we just had an incredibly cold winter in North America and huge record snowfalls across the continent. As Al Gore said to a bunch of us the other day, these record cold spells and record snowfalls are actually caused by global warming. To which Jerry York replied, 'Jeez then I guess we better stop this global warming before we all f**king freeze to death, eh?'

For that price get a 12v to 110v inverter and use your regular Newton power
supply. Or a laptop, or cell phone charger or a portable dvd player or
recharge your battery drill . . . You get the idea. I've seen inverters for
less than $20US and nice ones for around $35US.

I did a quick web search for a car-charger option for my 2000 and 2100. I
found something that claimed to work, but it'd be $70. Can that be correct?
