Not specifically, but you did type the following ...

"It's considered bad form to 'fish' for offers like this on a  
community list."

Since when? None of the mailing lists where I have been a member (or a  
list dad) have ever made any statement regarding "fishing" for a best  
offer on goods for sale. I only made reference to the NewtonTalk FAQ  
to show that this list does not have any restrictions on this type of  
query.
