I'm pretty tempted by the Touch too. I wasn't for the longest time. But now that PhatWare has its (Newton-related) HWR programs and PIM out, it's tempting, to me.
However, every time I look at it, I think: the N800 is still more capable! Because it's more easily hackable, and so it has a proliferation of "real" Linux apps (ex. Unison, Abiword, Xournal, etc.) that may never come to the iPhone.
I am perhaps even more tempted to install Android on my N800 and dual boot it. (NITDroid is the port.)
All the same, I can certainly see the Touch as a viable option, particularly with the PhatWare stuff.
