This is wrong. The 2000 and 2100 had the same ROM boards. The only
difference
was the amount of RAM provided by two RAM chips.

You were at 2.1 before if you used a 2000.
Both the Newton 2000 and 2100 run Newton OS 2.1. What a system patch
like yours does is _patch_ the 2.1 OS, but it will still be a 2.1 OS
afterwards.
All MP2x00 system patches out there can be used both for the 2000 and
the 2100.
You were probably misled by the fact that "2.1" looks more like "2100"
than "2000".
