The only way it may have affected you is if the NewtonTalk list server  
was trying to deliver messages to your mindspring.com account. When  
our server was blocked by Earthlink, all messages to earthlink.com and  
mindspring.com email addresses bounced and were not delivered. With  
enough bounces, the mailing list software would have disabled your  
NewtonTalk subscription.
