Not exactly the lightest-weight "wireless" solution, but you can connect
your eMate to a Netgear WGPS606 unit
(http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=netgear+wgps606&oe=utf-8&rls=org.m
ozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=1968894069589939247
&ei=VmxBS6-7E8mQlAfg0ojgDw&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=3
&ved=0CCEQ8wIwAg#ps-sellers) and let that do the wireless connectivity work.

>From time to time I look around for true lightweight systems similar to this
one but so far have not found one cheap.

I think having a PCMCIA Ethernet card + wireless router has these advantages
over WiFi:
1. Less packages taking up eMate memory/storage.
2. The bridge will be able to do WPA, etc while the existing version of
Hiroshi's drivers only do limited WEP.
3. Maybe it's faster (not sure about that point though).

Disadvantages:
1. You now have to carry an Ethernet cable and the bridge and the bridge
power brick.
2. Setup of the router will require Windows or Mac machine because most
routers have a high-end-browser configuration tool.

If I could find a battery-powered WiFi bridge that had a telnet setup, that
was also affordable, I'd be Truly Happy (TM) for 2010.

Subject: [NTLK] Airport Card on eMate (or other Wifi solution)

Hi all,

I wondered if it's possible to hook up an Airport card onto an eMate 300.
Those comments on AppleFritter made me think it's possible
http://www.applefritter.com/node/3736#comment-6203

However, suggested links are dead

What is wrong with the newtontalk.net one ?

Actually, there might be easier and cheaper ways to connect my eMate 300 to
WIFI.
I found this link, which uses a Lucent WaveLAN card, but couldn't find one
for sale at a decent price :(
http://geektechnique.org/projectlab/669/getting-your-emate-wireless

I used the search on newtontalk but didn't find anything worth it
http://marc.info/?l=newtontalk&w=2&r=1&s=emate+wifi&q=b (thank you James
Wages for this great search link)

To your knowledge, what is the best solution to go wireless ?

Thanks for helping (please excuse the bad English, but I'm French)

Happy New Year
Laurent
