I also like Super Notepad but got using Hypernewt instead. As for your
super note problem. What you just needed to do is go into the super
notepad preferences and click update (or it might be refresh I have not
done it in a while). It then checks though all the notes and updates
them (often fixing problems along the way...but I would do a backup to
be safe though).
The "modifications" it does are adding lines to the soup to let you tag
data. And of course the encryption function is just encrypting the data
in the note in that part of the soup. As you noticed you can just
freeze Super Notepad and continue using Notepad without any problems.
The only "gotcha" is if you encrypted notes. Those are then just blank
notes you can't read without Super Notepad. But you can just unfreeze
and decrypt them at any time.
