Interesting! I should mention that I don't connect all that often and it is
usually only to back up. I went thru all that so I could 2010 patch. I think
I had a couple of packages to move over to Newt as well. I started with only
one instance of slowdown to start with and the connection took longer to
drop the more instances I had running, until it didn't drop at all. I guess
I'll have to do some more experimenting.

I have used Win98SE in MS Virtual PC and got a reliable connection with an
AMD
single core 1GHz, 1GB machine without Slowdown.
