Just found a way to send from aliases with MobileMe from the iPhone.  
Add new account > Other > IMAP > alias name > incoming add whatever >  
outgoing smtp.mail.me and use your real Mobile Me name and password >  
Save. Save again even though it fails to verify.

Go back into the mail settings and delete incoming mail settings.  
Save. Now you will have the option to send from the MobileMe alias  
email on the iPhone. It works!
