What with all the pages surrounding the pictures being in Japanese, I can only conjecture that the Frozen Newton got its name from the ice-like appearance of the case. [scratches head]
(Personally, I'm just grateful they never decided to call it the Newtonsicle, seeing as how it's a name that invites scorn and derision.)
