Yes, like Forrest said, the Newton will wake up every morning, do some tasks, and go back to sleep. Does that still apply if you have the power options set to leave the screen on as long as the power adapter is connected? I’ve never tested it.

Most everything I've read says that it's a feature engineered into the Newton. It's supposed to come on every day at 3 am, update calendars, to-do lists, alarms, etc., then power back down.

It sounds like yours does not (?!?)....
