[NTLK] Just got a eMate 300 . . . need drivers

Pawel, thanks!

I removed the FTDI kext.

I then chopped the end off the uxcell din cable I got off Amazon, only to find 4 wires instead of 8. That'll go back to the vendor.

I cut a known-good Apple serial cable in half, then soldered the 7 used wires to their proper positions on a rs232 female connector.

I verified serial data via socat and GNU screen.

I unplugged the FTDI USB cable and plugged it back in. Connected the Newton to it with my new cable. Started NCX, ran Dock from the Newton, and it worked.

Lessons learned here:

Use the built in High Sierra FTDI drivers.
Beware Amazon cables.
Disconnect and reconnect the FTDI/USB device before starting NCX.

Anyone have a spare Apple Serial Cable? Someone cut mine in half. ;)
