I've painted several machines. Even put faux stone finishes on them but
that was on conventional plastic and painted metal surfaces. Krylon
semi-flat black was a favorite color and wore very well even on portables
even without any special surface preparation. I have my doubts about
painting the MP2K though with the rubberized surface. Seems like it would
take some kind of special coating to stick. Seems like it would abrade
easily also.

This is quite popular in Japan. They do faux wood grain and such
using classical Japanese enamel techniques. It is beautiful stuff!

As for painting it yourself, I think that the best bet would be to
remove the case before trying to paint it. Anything else would have
incredible potential for permanent damage. I have been trying to
decide if I want to do this to my Newton and PowerPook G3.
