1. Try throwing away the NCU Prefs file
2. If you have Backdrop Plus installed, remove any items on the "desktop"
(dock) or applications list. This solved the problem for me when I had
it.
3. You could have a bad "soup" (database); watch the progress messages
and see what it's backing up when it fails. Try backing up everything
BUT that item.

Are you using LocalTalk or Ethernet?

Probably ;-)

Does it have slots for holding extra PCMCIA cards? Does it cover the
screen? Do you have access to the PCMCIA card slots, the power plug and
interconnect port and IrDA and pen slot at the top and the battery holder
(the latter is of less importance with rechargeables;)
