I am having a real problem with backing up my MP 2100 to my PowerBook
G3 (WallStreet). I can connect to the computer just fine via NCU on
the Mac and the Dock app on the Newton and I can import/export and
install packages, but when I try to do a full back up, NCU gets to
the first step of backing up the system information and disconnects.
On the Mac, I get a -1 error and on the Newton I get a -48204 error
and a message stating the computer disconnected.
I am running MacOS 9 on the Mac and I have been able to back up
before, though the back up has now been lost. I have tried via
Serial/Printer port and AppleTalk. I have disabled all extensions
except the ones required by NCU and have rebooted the Newton with all
packages disabled and I have re-installed NCU from the ground up.
Still the same thing. Any thoughts? This is really annoying problem.
On a lighter note, you all may remember my posts last week about the
E & B Newton Glove and finally purchasing one. Well, it arrived on
Monday and it is sweet! I strongly suggest it to anyone who is in the
market for a slim case for their MP 2x00. If we give E & B a strong
enough showing, they might consider resurrecting the Glove line.
