Re: NTLK Switching to Palm

I am about to give up on using and taking Newt everywhere: he’s just too blasted big to be as portable as I need a PDA to be. This past weekend I had a chance to try out an old Palm Pilot Professional, and while it lacks the elegance, cross-app integration and power of any of the Newton MessagePads, it has one advantage: I could stick it in my pocket and take it wherever I went.

I probably will not end up replacing Newt with something else, but keeping it (besides, it’s a little beaten-up from that fall off the speeding car) and getting something else - probably a Handspring Visor at this point - that will add to what I can do with Newt. Not the best solution, but then again, nothing will be until they make something the size of a Palm V with a folding screen, built-in modem, and customizable elegance of the Newton OS.

I can dream, can’t I?
