NTLK newbie questions

Hi, I am a newbie with an MP130 that I found stuffed in a lab drawer. I
have greatly enjoyed tormenting myself with it and have a few questions to
heighten my torment.
1)Is there a hypercard like program that I can use to create stacks on my
newton? If so, where?
2) Any advice on exporting a database (300 restriction enzymes, sites,
buffer conditions and isoschizomers) so I don't have to re-enter this
data. I have accordian, but not filemaker 3.0(have access to Pro, and
4.1).
3) Any sites for programs for biologists?

Finally, a slight OT. I am thinking of biting the bullet and taking a
real programming class (Last one was 10yrs ago--FORTRAN, yuck). I was
thinking of PERL since I need to do database stuff. Any advice pro or
con? I prefer working with Macs(and have MacPerl), although I use Suns at work,
not by
choice.
TIA,
Janna
