NTLK AppleTalk over Ethernet (EtherTalk)

Ok, here's what I want to do... Somebody tell me if it's possible...

Newton 130 (OS 2.0)

I want to connect to an AppleTalk network using an Ethernet card in my 130.
I installed ethernet card drivers, but they complained that "Newton Devices"
is not loaded. So I looked for "Newton Devices" and found that it is a pkg
that comes with NIE 2.0 (not intended for OS 2.0 devices... But, I installed
it anyway. So now after rebooting my Newt, I no longer get messages about
the ethernet card drivers, but I do get a message explaining that "An error
occurred activating the pkg 'Newton Devices'. It may not work with this
system...."

I believe I've heard that doing just AppleTalk over ethernet is possible on a
130, just that TCP/IP is not possible. That is exactly what I want to do.
Anybody confirm or deny this?
